Overview

Verdelho orriginates from Portugal where it is grown in warm and dry conditions and hence it is well suited for growing in the Hunter Valley.

The variety has a natural resistance to disease and produces consistent yields. The fruit was sourced from the Hunter Ridge Vineyard in Pokolbin.

The machine harvested fruit was immediately transported to our Hunter Valley Winery for processing. The grapes were lightly pressed in our pnuematic membrane press before transferring to a stainless steel tank for cold settling.

After settling the clear juice was racked and innoculated with the DV10 yeast strain which helps to promote the grapes natural varietal characters.

After completion of fermentation the wine was heat and cold stabilised prior to a light fining and filtration in preparation for bottling.
