Verdelho is a grape variety predominantly grown in the dry conditions of Portugal. It is a variety ideally suited to the Hunter Valley with a natural resistance to disease and consistent yields.
The cool growing conditions of the 2021 vintage pushed back a week such that the Verdelho grapes were harvested on the 21st January.
The Verdelho grapes for this wine were sourced from the Hunter Ridge Vineyard on Hermitage Road. These Grapes were picked on the early side of the ripeness ledger with the intent of making a refreshing Vino Verde style that is ideal for the Australian summer.
