The 2014 growing season is noted for producing red wine at the top end of the qualitative spectrum.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the St Albans Vineyard in Scone which due to its altitude is one of the coolest areas in the Hunter Valley. Cool conditions throughout most of the growing season were coupled with dry hot conditions at the tail end of the season.
At harvest, due to low crop loads, the grapes had excellent varietal and regional characteristics as well as a very dense colour hue. This wine is a traditional style Shiraz with minimal oak influence and has enormous aging potential.
