McGuigan is excited to announce the launch of its first ever mid-strength wine, Black Label Mid.

With Aussies increasingly looking for low and no alcohol options, it was a no-brainer that McGuigan would call on its winemaking expertise to produce a mid-strength wine that is 20% lighter in alcohol and calories than Black Label Red.

Delivering the same full-bodied, fruity flavour of the iconic McGuigan Black Label Red, our expert winemakers have crafted a drop with 5.8 standard drinks and 9.8% alcohol for Australians to enjoy on any occasion.

A recent blind tasting found that 80% of consumers1 were surprised at their preference for the new Mid over the classic full strength, while nine out of 10 said they’d consider buying the new McGuigan Black Label Mid for a healthier consumption of alcohol1.

McGuigan’s Chief Winemaker, Jamie Saint says the new Black Label Mid is made to be to be enjoyed on any occasion.

“Created for conscious consumers who don’t want to compromise on quality, McGuigan Black Label Mid is the perfect bottle to bring with you to any event, whether that be dinner with the in-laws, weekend BBQ with mates or a noteworthy night in, just because.”

“McGuigan Black Label Mid has the same iconic generous, fruit forward style as our best selling Black Label Red, that consumers know and love us for, just with lower alcohol and calories.” said Saint.

The new Black Label Mid promises delicious deep fruit flavours of spicy plum, cherry and blackberry and just a hint of sweetness. Perfectly paired with tomato-based dishes, this versatile off-dry wine is well-balanced with a smooth finish. And at only 103.5 calories per 150ml serve, this tasty drop is the perfect choice for those looking to moderate their alcohol intake.

McGuigan Black Label Mid is available from Dan Murphy’s and select Independent Liquor Retailers for RRP$10.
