The fruit resource for this wine was limited to the Hunter Ridge Vineyard located on Hermitage Road Pokolbin. For some reason, this area avoided contamination from smoke and while yields were restricted due to the severity of the drought the wines made were of high quality.
The small berries ideally suit wines of this style as there is some tannin extraction from the skin which helps balance the natural grape sugar in the wine. This style is a traditional style from the Hunter Valley and will age gracefully in the typical manner of Hunter Semillon.
